GD Star Rating 1.9.11

New version of the 1.9 branch brings couple of minor changes and fixes SQL injection exploit in the export file. Thanks goes to Miroslav Stampar for reporting the problem (http://about.me/stamparm). Updating to this new version to fix the exploit is highly recommended.

Is GD Star Rating secure plugin?

WordPress is used on millions of websites, and with that a target to constant hacking attempts. And from time to time, various security problems can be found. Core team does a good job on fixing those problems as soon they are discovered.

GD Star Rating 1.6.0

Another major release of GD Star Rating is now ready. I have implemented several new features: taxonomy support, new filters expanded T2 rendering and basics for user level access restrictions. Also, all bugs reported so far are fixed.

No comments reordering

To summarize the post, there will be no comments reordering using ratings in GD Star Rating. For now. Problem is not that I don’t want to make it, but that it cannot be done at the moment the way I would like it to be done. Here’s why.

Benchmark #2: Blog

This second part will analyze GD Star Rating impact on blog pages. This post will focus on number of queries that GD Star Rating adds to a page. There are many factors that must be taken into account, but I will cover most interesting cases of use.

Another minor revision after 1.5.1 is here. And again, I am proven to be bad in testing my own code, since I missed few errors. Also, there were many problems with importing data from other rating plugins, and that is also fixed in this release.

And now for something completely different. New version of GD Star Rating. I have finally completed very difficult task on optimizing the plugin and number of SQL queries executed. I wanted to include this in 1.5.0, but I needed few more days.

Settings Explained Part 1.

Plugin has so many settings that I understand that sometimes it can be difficult to see what each of the settings is exactly doing. So, this is the first post in which I will try to explain all settings. Most of the settings are self explanatory.
