Road to GD Star Rating 2.0

GD Star Rating 1.8.0 will be released on january 3 2010. And that will be the end of the features cycle for 1.x versions. But, few days ago I have started working (planning mostly) the roadmap to next major version of the plugin: GD Star Rating 2.0.

New plugin: GD Affiliate Center

GD Affiliate Center is the new premium plugin for WordPress that will be available on the new Dev4Press website next week. I have set demo website that will showcase plugins features, and will be used to announce upcoming changes and improvements.

This will be most likely last release in the 1.5.x series. Mostly this is bug fixing and improving deletion of different types of votes, fixing Safari/Firefox problems with tabs on the admin panels and improving RSS integration for multis and thumbs.

During the last few days after 1.4.6 is released, several bugs, mostly minor were reported. So, I decided to release new version with all reported bugs fixed, rather to wait for 1.5.0 that’s coming next week. So, here is another minor version.

With GD Star Rating 1.5.0 week away, this post will outline the features this plugin will get in the future. Most of the things I wanted do do is already done, but still there are many things that you can expect. List of features is split into two parts.

For the past week I have been working on few more features from the roadmap. And, almost half of it is done by now. Most important new feature is support for integration of the rating blocks (both standard and multi) into comment form.

In last two days I have been reviewing the plugin code and looking for few bugs reported in the last week or so. And I managed to find some more bugs and fix them. Also, I have also started working on the recently announced features.

With just a day or two away from release of 1.3.0, I have decided to make public a list of features that will be in development after that. All the features here will span next 2 months. This list is not definitive and it might change over time.
