The release of GD Press Tools 4.0 Pro is very close, and here is the first Beta version. At this point, all the features are locked, but there are many more planned features that will be added to the roadmap for 4.1 and 4.2 versions. Here is the quick overview of this release.
As many of you have noticed over the past 2 days, package with GD Star Rating 1.9.6 on WordPress.org was still containing old 1.9.5 version. Problem was with synchronization of SVN to package, and it’s now resolved. So, you can now safely upgrade from WP.org to get new version.
Few days ago, new major version of GD Press Tools is released. GD Press Tools 2.0 is a significant improvement over the previous versions with many new tools, cleaned up code, new design and colors and many changes, improvements and fixes.
For the past 3-4 days I have been testing GD Star Rating on WPMU with BuddyPress. So, this post will be about this testing and the things I have noticed so far. But let me tell from the start, latest 1.5.7 works just fine with MPMU & BuddyPress.
To summarize the post, there will be no comments reordering using ratings in GD Star Rating. For now. Problem is not that I don’t want to make it, but that it cannot be done at the moment the way I would like it to be done. Here’s why.
GD Star Rating is one of the biggest plugin currently available for WordPress. And some users were concerned about impact of this plugin to website performance. So, I decided to benchmark GD Star Rating in last 3 major versions of WordPress.
Few more bugs were reported in the last couple of days, and I find some myself, so I decided to release another version before 1.5.0. Also, I did a major cleanup of the HTML and JavaScript code used on admin pages. And added few more things.
During the last few days after 1.4.6 is released, several bugs, mostly minor were reported. So, I decided to release new version with all reported bugs fixed, rather to wait for 1.5.0 that’s coming next week. So, here is another minor version.
