GD Star Rating 1.8.5
New GD Star Rating, version 1.8.5 has just been released. This version has many improvements and changes, updates to T2 templates system, new tags, actions and filters. Thumbs voting rules are finally implemented properly. Also several bugs have been fixed.
GD Star Rating 1.8.4
Another minor, mostly maintenance release. Tool for bulk change of vote roles is improved to better reflect current rules usability. Several minor (or not so minor) bugs are fixed and new pre-render filter added to control some of the data displayed by the plugin.
GD Star Rating 1.8.3
I am working on GDSR 2.0, and many things will be changed there. But, one of those improvements is now part of this 1.8.x branch. Main javascript file for ratings is now completely rewritten and is no longer loaded as dynamic. Few more changes are part of this release.
GD Star Rating 1.8.2
It was almost a month since previous update, and almost no new problems reported. Few bugs reported (and confirmed) are now fixed. Also few more things are improved and changed, while I was working in integrating plugin in my upcoming theme framework.
Premium tutorials on Dev4Press
Ever since I started with premium support on Dev4Press for GD Star Rating plugin, many tutorials are published there. Most of them are video tutorials with lenght from 7 to 15 minutes covering many different subjects, requested by the premium subscribers.
Ratings in Google search results
Back in may, Google announced the new feature for the search engine, called Rich Snippets. Using microformat or RDF you can add pieces of code that will Google find and use with search results. So, I decided to add support for rich snippets for both reviews and ratings.
Exceprt problem finally solved
Many users of run into the famous excerpt problem when setting plugin to work with some themes and when posts didn’t had excerpt pre-set. And solution was there, but it wasn’t very elegant. And now looks like that this problem will be gone for good.
GD Star Rating 1.7.1
Previous version of GD Star Rating, 1.7.0 was released a week ago, and unfortunately there where few bugs in it. Most of the users were not affected, but if you were using multi reviews and partially ratings and multi caching, there were number of problems.

Here is new release of GD Star Rating with some very important changes that were needed for improved customization potential. Most of the changes are with the T2 templates and rendering to allow adding filters for all rendering methods.
No comments reordering
To summarize the post, there will be no comments reordering using ratings in GD Star Rating. For now. Problem is not that I don’t want to make it, but that it cannot be done at the moment the way I would like it to be done. Here’s why.
