Database in GDSR 2.0
As I said few days ago, one of the main concerns for GDSR 2.0 is new database model. And at this point, I can confirm that new model is created. Here is the overview of the new database model and how that compares to old one and why I decided on such structure.
Status of GDSR 2.0
Due to many other projects, and most importantly, new xScape theme framework, work on GDSR 2.0 is slower than I would have liked to. But, things are progressing, and keep reading if you are interested in the current status of major revision of GD Star Rating.
Road to GD Star Rating 2.0
GD Star Rating 1.8.0 will be released on january 3 2010. And that will be the end of the features cycle for 1.x versions. But, few days ago I have started working (planning mostly) the roadmap to next major version of the plugin: GD Star Rating 2.0.
GD Star Rating 1.6.6
Still lacking free time for new plugin features, but still enough time to improve existing features, plugin speed up and optimizations. This time changes are in installation, plugin loading, database tables collation and lower memory usage.
GD Star Rating 1.1.9
Finally, new version of the GD Star Rating. Previous version had a bug that made a lot of problems to all who used multi ratings feature. Now this problem should be fixed, and multi ratings should be working fine now.
Progress Report
It’s two few weeks since the last update, and I have been very busy with work, so rating plugin was on hold for a while. I have finally resumed the work for the 1.1.9 version, that should be released by the end of next week.
Upcoming 1.1.8 version
I am currently working on next GD Star Rating version, and it’s going slow at the moment because I have very little free time right now. But, the new version is coming most likely in the next week at the most. Find out what’s new…
Database problems
Many changes made to the plugin in the past two months required a lot of changes in the database tables structure needed by the plugin. I tryied to include all the proper upgrade procedures but sometimes that’s not enough.
