Database in GDSR 2.0

As I said few days ago, one of the main concerns for GDSR 2.0 is new database model. And at this point, I can confirm that new model is created. Here is the overview of the new database model and how that compares to old one and why I decided on such structure.

GD Star Rating 1.8.1

New maintenance release is here. It addresses several WordPress 2.9 issues and post edit panel, caused by datepicker control, several minor bugs and also a problem with percentage value for thumbs when no votes are recorded. Some translations are updated.

GD Star Rating 1.8.0 MMX

As previously announced, this release of GD Star Rating will be the ending of the current 1.x branch. Development of GD Star Rating 2.0.0 is well underway, and until it is completed, there will be some bug fixing releases in the current stable branch.

Using GD Star Rating with cache plugins

GD Star Rating supports dynamic loading of ratings using AJAX calls from early 1.6.x versions, and from 1.7.0 this support is completed. With this you can use plugin on websites running some cache system or cache plugins like WP Super Cache.

Is GD Star Rating secure plugin?

WordPress is used on millions of websites, and with that a target to constant hacking attempts. And from time to time, various security problems can be found. Core team does a good job on fixing those problems as soon they are discovered.

Are support rules so hard to follow?

Way back in april, plugin was used on some 4.000 blogs, but now that number is close to 20.000. And that caused the increase of users that are misusing my free time and FREE support, and they still fail to follow few simple support rules.

WordPressMU & BuddyPress

For the past 3-4 days I have been testing GD Star Rating on WPMU with BuddyPress. So, this post will be about this testing and the things I have noticed so far. But let me tell from the start, latest 1.5.7 works just fine with MPMU & BuddyPress.

Support Changes

Well, plugin has grown significantly over the past 6 months, and same goes for the number of blogs that use it. And, providing support is still taking a lot of my free time. A free time I don’t have. So things will change.
