New interface in GDSR 2.0
I was busy over the weekend with GDSR 2.0, and with database model, I have worked on the new interface. Work on that is far from finished, but look and feel of it is created and all panels will be created using the same unified design. Here are some screenshots.
Database in GDSR 2.0
As I said few days ago, one of the main concerns for GDSR 2.0 is new database model. And at this point, I can confirm that new model is created. Here is the overview of the new database model and how that compares to old one and why I decided on such structure.
Status of GDSR 2.0
Due to many other projects, and most importantly, new xScape theme framework, work on GDSR 2.0 is slower than I would have liked to. But, things are progressing, and keep reading if you are interested in the current status of major revision of GD Star Rating.
GD Star Rating and xScape Themes
First xScape theme is released few days ago, with more on the way, and one of the important elements of the framework will be support for all mine plugins including GD Star Rating. First version of the framework has support for comment integration for standard and multi ratings.
WPMU & GD Star Rating 2.0
Work on GD Star Rating 2.0 has already begun, and I have already made some very interesting changes. But since most of the plugins code will be rewritten, there is one very important new element to consider: full support for WPMU and BuddyPress.
New plugin: GD Affiliate Center
GD Affiliate Center is the new premium plugin for WordPress that will be available on the new Dev4Press website next week. I have set demo website that will showcase plugins features, and will be used to announce upcoming changes and improvements.
New website res4WP.com
Couple a days ago I started new website under the name res4WP that will be used to collect various WordPress related resources from all over the Internet. All posts will be categories and will have short description with url to the resource.
Exceprt problem finally solved
Many users of run into the famous excerpt problem when setting plugin to work with some themes and when posts didn’t had excerpt pre-set. And solution was there, but it wasn’t very elegant. And now looks like that this problem will be gone for good.
Is GD Star Rating secure plugin?
WordPress is used on millions of websites, and with that a target to constant hacking attempts. And from time to time, various security problems can be found. Core team does a good job on fixing those problems as soon they are discovered.
TVScape.NET goes live
