Thumbnail for GD Star Rating 1.8.6

New GD Star Rating, version 1.8.6 has just been released. This is minor update only that fixes the problem with jQuery 1.4 that is part of the WordPress 3.0, and more strict parsing of the JSON that is returned after voting. Also, minor thumbs loader problem is fixed.

Translation is updated, and will be added to next release. All translators should be getting email from plugins Google Group where the new POT file is uploaded.

Can users still vote on their own comments in this version?

By the way, I have created a topic about this, on GD forum:
      http://forum.gdragon.info/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=772&p=2726#p2726

I can’t edit widget for now.

      See you Millan.

I use GD Star Rating on all my websites, and on many clients websites, and I would see something like this, but I can tell you that it’s working fine. If it’s broken (and you have found which plugin breaks it: Tabbed Accordion), I can’t go fixing others plugins or even test with other plugins, there are too many of them.

          but I don’t use Tabed Accordion .
Well, then I go see which plugin is breaking it.
          Thank you :)

    Hello,

    Nice plugin. But…

    1) I wonder if is it possible to create T2 Template that shows custom fields of post. How can I do that?

I would like to create table sth like http://www.co-optimus.com/system/4/pc.html
    that shows:

Games (posts) with rating and custom fields. I know how to do this withoug custom fields. But how create template with custom fields data?

    2) Can I have tables with rating result and have option to sort data with (Title or Votes) ?? Some tips ?

      1) Yes. But not directly. You can use any tag you want and use actions to process them. I use this on my TVScape.NET website a lot.
      2) T2 is used to control this rendering also along with everything else.

I can’t help you beyond this, I don’t have time for free support anymore.

    I had two questions.

I am using your plugin for a review system.

    1) Would I be able to have the bottom line be bolded text? I created a Multi Rating Set with the last element as “Overall” for overall score and wish to make that text bold to make it stand out a bit more. Would it be easier to create a separate StarReview and have a custom CSS for that?

    2) I was having some trouble getting the widget to sort by rating. My goal would be to have the user be able to see posts based on the overall rating.

    Thanks for answering people.

Your plugin is working great for me but unfortunately, it’s messing up the W3 validation of comments as it removes the the ending p tag.

I originally thought it was an issue with my theme but you’re having the same issue on this blog, I just validated it and it removes the ending /p for every comment as well when it shouldn’t do that along with messing up the div tags for the comments.

I have noticed, but plugin is not removing anything, it only adds code to the end of comment text. Why P tag ending is missing is strange, and I will try to see why that happens.

Yes, I found the problem. Stupid WP core has a function that needs to add tag around the comment content, and in many cases this function can fail due to many regular expressions used to parse the code. Next version of GDSR will set comment_text filter to very high value to ensure that GDSR executes own code after WP finishes own actions.

    Hi Millan,
First thank you very much for your great work!

I am using the GD Star Rating WordPress plugin on my website: http://www.hostelvideoguide.com, for example on this page: http://www.hostelvideoguide.com/usa-hostels-hollywood/. To give the possibility to vote for a page on the listing page (http://www.hostelvideoguide.com/best-hostels/?id=California), I am using the [starrater ] function. But I can’t use in the php version of the function the page-ID attribute.

Did I miss something? I am doing it now with the HTML version of [starrater] but would like to do it in php in the future.

    Thanks a lot.

Hi, this is a great plugin I´m already using. I was wondering if I can change the location of the rating stars. I mean, I don´t want them to be at the bottom of the page, because my site has a lot of content. Is there any way to change this, so I can move the stars wherever I want?
