Another minor, mostly maintenance release. Tool for bulk change of vote roles is improved to better reflect current rules usability. Several minor (or not so minor) bugs are fixed and new pre-render filter added to control some of the data displayed by the plugin.
There was a rare occurrence bug wit auto cache cleanup, that is now fixed and another one regression caused by previous version and new JavaScript file for ratings. If you notice any more bugs, leave a comment describing it.

auto update made the rating and star graphics disappear, but i discovered how to fix it: first i went to graphics -> tools then rescanned graphics. Then i went to graphics -> stars and checked all the Stars Sets. seems to be working for me now.

This is known problem, and what you did is only solution, it’s in the FAQ. I have no idea why graphics paths are lost in some rare cases after upgrade.

I can’t make any settings in the Plugin. If I check something in Setting and Hit the button the AJAX-Menu loads after updating the settings and then… all is like it was BEFORE I made the settings. All checkboxes I checked are unchecked and so on…

Hello, first of all thank you for the awesome plugin! Very intimidating, but amazing.
I installed it today, and installed wordpress 2.9.2 last week. The plugin works on the front end ok, but in the admin I tried to drag a widget to the side menu, and got an error (i didn’t record it, but i think it said the same as below).
Then I deactivated and reactivated, and now when I go to widgets I get an error screen:

Fatal error: Class ‘GDSRX’ not found in /home/n23des5/public_html/lasgoodlife.com/wp-content/plugins/gd-star-rating/code/t2/render.php on line 45
searched forum, website, user’s guide and only reference was somone had the same problem and you said it was fixed in a new version. I’m using newest version of both.

Hello, please disregard. I set up some plugins and I removed several and it’s working great now.
Unfortunately, I didn’t notice right away so I’m not sure which one was causing the conflict, but if I figure it out I will post here for fyi.
Now to learn how to use it

It seems that there’s a conflict with this plug in for adding tabs to the side menu:

If I activate this then go to widgets, I get the error message posted above. Deactivating it and the ratings work fine.

This is my first try at using this plugin and I can tell that hundreds, maybe thousands or hours went into it. Every option covered.
It appears VERY well developed.
But I can’t save ANY admin changes. Every setting change I make and save, when I revisit that page, the default selections are selected, and the front end, the posts and pages, reflect all default settings.
Running 2.8.5.
Any idea why this might be happening? Thanks.

Wait to see GDSR 2.0, it’s still under heavy development, but even now is much, much better than current version.
Read the readme.txt and FAQ: plugin needs PHP5.

I´m using gd star rating and I think is a great plugin.
Now I need to rate not only pages and articles, but some parts of an article. Like a paragraph or link.
Is it possible?
I tryed with the shortcodes provided in the button but I haven´t achieved it yet.

It’s built into the theme as anything else you see on this website. Theme uses modified version of pagenavi plugin.

First of all, I did check FAQ and I did read this thread before posting this message
My server is running on PHP 5.2.6
I installed gd-star-rating but I still can’t save most of the settings, pretty as described by other users in this topic.
Amazingly, some settings are saved correctly (like the number of the stars – I chose 5 instead of 10).
However, I was unable to spot any other setting that is saved after pressing “Save changes” button.
I have a workaround – I change record “gd-star-rating” in the wp_options database via MySQLAdmin, but some features are tricky to find.

I install this plugin today but there is a little problem. When i activate GD Star i lost widgets panel http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/1206/zle.jpg. Without this plugin all its right. What is wrong. My server have php 5. And one more question. Which file i must edit to translate words marked on this screenshot http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/1786/transj.jpg.

My graphics disapeared after up grade. I swapped to php5 as it requires it my entire site works fine except whith php5 on i lose the stars if i set php4 on i have the stars.
i tried what is mentioned above with rescanning the graphics and rechecking them.
Any ideas wp latest version and gd star 1.8.6 only gd star plugin instaelled
