This is most likely last release of GD Star Rating in 2009. Next, 1.8.0 will be released in the first days of 2010. This time, there are only few changes in 1.7.9, more will come in 1.8.0. Also, work has started on the major release of GD Star Rating 2.0.0.
I fixed few minor issues mostly with WP 2.9. But at this point there are two unconfirmed reported bugs with WP 2.9, and they could be caused by the bugs in WP 2.9. In the next few days WP 2.9.1 will be released fixing some problem with post edit page, and than I can see if there is a problem with GD Star Rating also. Now I added option to control what will be displayed to the search engine bots. You can control that from the first tab of the Settings panel, allowing to hide ratings from bots, display plugin promo message (only search engine will see that) or display normal ratings.
I have posted last night about plans for GD Star Rating 2.0 and you can check that here. More about premium support and the new Dev4Press website are here and here.

Hey, I have a question. How did you achieve showing the next version’s changes from within WordPress’ plugins page like this: http://i.imgur.com/9Bu58.png ? I’d like to implement that too. Thanks!

Hello MillaN,
I can see that i can use your ultimate gdstar to replace wpreview plugin by using ‘multi sets’.
Anyway, there are only two positions: top and bottom. Is there to make it float left or right of the post so it can align well with the ad, paragraph or picture?
Thanks for gdstar.

After reading, this answered in your ‘Customization: Multi Ratings’ post. But the screen there are old version.
I tried in Multis setting:
Rating block CSS class: blockgreen
Rating text CSS class: textgreen
Rating header CSS class: tablegreen
Rating button CSS class: buttongreen
But there is no affect.

How about your theme style file? You can add CSS wherever you need, but theme is the best place, since styles are depending on the theme.

None. From the very early version plugin required WP 2.5. Now you need WP 2.7, and with GDSR 2.0 only WP 2.8 and newer will be supported.

I have a weird problem. I recently updated wordpress and GD Star Rating to the latest versions and noticed this after. Post I already created and have multi-star ratings will save results like normal. My two recent posts will not save the multi-star ratings. The star rating review box does appear at the end of my post, i have it setup to appear by category. You can also input stars, it just don’t save them. Any speculation as to what I should do. My host is host gator and I believe they have MySQL5
thanks

I’ve had this issue before on upgrade and you helped me solve it in a post but I’ll be damned if I can find it now.
The problem is this.. new posts (those after the upgrade to the latest version) do not show the complete dropdown for the rating in the edit post screen.
My dropdown only goes to 1. Any ideas as to what could be causing this? No new plugins were activated or anything and I have latest version of WP.
