GD Star Rating 1.7.7
I hate when the bug is found only hours after release, and I hate the fact that I missed the obvious problem. But, things like that happen occasionally, and I have already fixed the problem, and the new GD Star Rating 1.7.7 is released.
One of the plugins JS libraries failed to load, and caused some of the jQuery powered code to break. This problem is now fixed. I also added new translation to Belorussian.

because currently they get deleted with an »automatic« update.

This is implemented for about a year now. I repeated many times: DON’T add anything into plugins folder, it will be deleted with updated. There is a mirror folder for this in wp-content.

hi! i have read the FAQs and the userguides etc. but I need some help and being a non-coder maybe I couldnt get something if its already mentioned.
i want to use the multi rating system to rate a movie based on best director/best camera etc.
then I want the widget to display, based on all the posts, best director/best camera. till now teh widget i see is only showing the average of the multi rating block?

This feature is not implemented yet. It is on the roadmap for 1.9 release, and that’s not due for another 2-3 months.
I guess you can pay for it, but it will be too expensive considering that I will need more than a full work day for that.

Hey Millan,
First I wanted to say this is an awesome plug-in. I’ve been following it for quite awhile now.
Recently I switched over to MU / Buddypress. Our site, based around creative writing, can’t wait to get this implemented as our site wide rating system but I’m still running into problems. Works on the main blog, but no other.
I Do know full MU support is on your road map, but I was wondering if you could give a quick update on how that’s coming along?
Also, if anyone has got it working, would you mind sharing a few tips for the time being?

WPMU support is on the road map, but I have no idea when it will be done. I will release 1.8 soon, and even for 1.9 that will be developed over the next 3-4 months there is no chance for significant WPMU changes.

I loved your plugin, it seems to be all I need, but I ran into a problem: I can’t set scores for multireview. I already made the multset and stuff, I can even place the multreview block in my post, but all I get are blank stars, I can’t vote myself.
Can you explain how can I set my scores?

This is great! Love the plugin, very well done, every detail is meticulously thought out. Kudos.
I have it working (almost) just like I want it, but wonder how the ratings, stars and thumbs, can be taken off the homepage. I un-checked the (post on home page) radio button and even looked into the code a bit – not much, I don’t want to mess anything up. Is there a spot to take it off the homepage that I’m not aware of? Check out my site and please let me know. If this falls under premium service, let me know that as well!

Unchecking that box is (usually) enough. But, there are some themes using very unusual loops that can’t be recognized as a valid loops that can mess up the concept.

Hi, thank you very much for providing your plugin! I have read the site and searched extensively, but I was wondering if it is possible to display the thumb ratings in the comment sidebar widget as opposed to the star ratings. If so, could you provide some quick directions to get me started down the right path? I have messed around with the T2 Template system, but it seems that the comment widget templates do not want to handle anything regarding thumb ratings. Thnaks-J

Thank you for the plugin it works great!
I just have one question. I would like to have a results menu on my site and I was wondering if there is a way to have those results displayed for main pages similar as they can be displayed with posts.
Example…
Category: Thriller movies
Posts in that category: Final Destination, Identity…
And when the user votes for those two movies on the results menu average rating is generated like this.
Thriller movies
* * * * * * *
I decided to move those movies to a child pages so the main page is called Thriller movies now and the child pages are movie in this category.
So now I don’t know if the results could be displayed similar as before. Average rating of all movies with the category name.

Everything that can be done with posts, can be done with pages (within WordPress limitations). Maybe there is no direct way for exactly what you need, but provided functions allows you to get all kinds of ratings based on id’s, so you can use those to get what you need.

Two quick items. First, do you know there are spammy links up in the header of this site? It looks like you might have gotten hit by a hacker.
Second, does GD Star Ratings support WordPress 2.9 (beta 2) right now? Is GD Star Ratings going to integrate with the new commentsmeta table?

GD Star Rating is fully compatible with latest WP 2.9 nightly build. And plugin has no use for comments meta table, so there is no need for additional integration.

I just installed the most awesome rating plugin there is – “GD Star Rating”
But unfortunately I have a problems with it or my theme does.
Once I activate my the plugin in my theme silveroak it breaks my theme as you can see here: http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/9192/themebreak.png

I tried this with a clean install and always tracked it back to the rating plugin. There are no other conflicting plugins.
It’s “just” the front page that breaks.

Anyone know how to fix this or what the problem could be? I don’t know if this is relevant, but my theme does not include a archives.php.
My webhost should also run the most current versions of PHP and MySQL (MySQL version: 5.0.85-community and PHP version: 5.2.9) etc. (downtownhost). So that can also be excluded as a possible source for the problem.
Maybe it’s a JS conflict? I’ll be happy to provide login details if this helps any. Right now there’s just demo content on my site.

It works just fine. But in your case you are missing jQuery. Since plugin is adding loader for jQuery also, that means that something is un-loading it.

Plugin je interesantan – ali postoji jedan problem, koji ja do sada nisam uspeo da resim – u pitanju je sledece.
Pojavi se lik koji dodje i koga ne przi da isklikce na dosta tema po jednu zvezdicu – to je prosto malo bezveze. Mislim da bi se trebala uvesti mogucnost da se npr kaze – da se sa jednog unikatnog IP-a ne moze glasati vise od jednom u 5 ili 10 minuta, i kad neko pokusada da glasa, da bude obavesten da postoji ogranicenje koje mu istice – za npr toliko i toliko minuta- to je jedan od predloga.
Drugi predlog je da se samo registrovanim clanovima omoguci glasanje – znaci da se glasanje vidi, ali da se prilikom pokusaja da se glasa a ako doticni nije ulogovan, moze pojaviti odredjena poruka koja bi ga usmerila na registraciju
Znaci eto to su moja razmisljanja – nadam se da su razumna i da ne predstavljaju prevelik napor vezano za implementaciju.
Trebalo bi uvesti jednu doatnu stranu na kojoj bi se izmedju ostalog mogle nalaziti ove dve mogucnosti sa svojim opcijama
znaci – vreme u minutama koje moze da se izabere (5,10,20,30,60 minuta npr), sa mogucnoscu da se upise tekstualna poruka koja ce onome ko zeli da glasa, biti prikazana – time se omogucava upisivanje teksta na razlicitim jezicima – normalno tajmer se ne menja i on se dodaje posle te poruke – tajmer koji odbrojava.
Mogucnost za izbor – ko moze da glasa – gosti, ulogovani clanovi i/ili nesto slicno.

Hi I really like this plugin and a friend and I was going to use it on a site we made for rating video games. At one time it was working but we kept getting this error called the Fatal Error on our site in the admin panel. At first it was just affecting the wordpress content i.e development blog, incoming links, plugin suggestion areas. After disabling it I notice the site ran fine no Fatal Errors. So I though I would do a clean install and try to get it working again. But this made things worst and we kept getting the fatal error stating that memory was being exhausted. After a while the plugin ate the majority of the admin panel with this error, and the error would even show up on the blog itself. After a lot of frustration I gave up and reinstalled wordpress completely with the plugins I wanted, including GD Star ratings. Now when I try to activate the plugin I get the following error message in the plugin portion of the admin panel.
Error Message: Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Apparently I’m either using a plugin that conflicts with yours or maybe the theme conflicts. Its a problem I can not fix and I was wondering if it has been encounter by other WP users before?

Thanks for replying. I read it and I see that this problem is do to a change in standards concerning Memory usage in the PHP configurations vs. WP recent upgrade. My config is for 32M and I have sent in a request to my hosting service to see if I can get that changed. **Crosses fingers**.
