Unfortunately, 1.7.1 was released with several bugs, and two of them were major caused by some changes I added just before releasing the plugin. So, I spend most of the day testing and fixing bugs, and here is the new version with many fixes.
First, I would like to say thank you to all of you who reported the problems and were patient with me to help me find some of the more obscure problems. 1.7.2 now contains almost a dozen fixes. Also, plugin is now 100% free of all php notices and warnings. Now, even with WP_DEBUG mode active, plugin will not generate any of those, as long as you don’t use PHP 5.3, because WordPress is not fully compatible with this latest PHP.
Most of the problems were caused by latest test feature for supporting Google Rich Snippets. I have changed many things in that code, and all problems cause by it will no go away. There were few other minor rendering bugs and few problems with widgets, and some problems in saving review values. There were two reported bugs I couldn’t reproduce, but hopefully they were caused by something else, and this new release will take care of that.
Once again, I am sorry that 1.7.1 was released with so many bugs, but I wanted to release it earlier to help people who had some review issues, and I worked on many changes in the plugins core, so some of the errors slipped by. But, you can be sure that if something like this ever happens again, I will always work to fix problems as soon as possible. Please, test it again, and report if some of the problems are still there.

First of all, thanks for a powerful plugin and the great documentation on this site.
I’m having a strange issue with 1.7.2 on WPMU 2.8.4. WPMU is integrated with bbPress and BuddyPress. I am using the default WPMU theme for testing the plugin right now.
With the default settings everything works fine, EXCEPT that when I hit the refresh button (on Firefox3 or IE7) the page never completes loading. Nothing is rendered at all. Using Firebug, it seems that the page load freezes after or during the 5th HTTP GET request (“GET jquery.js?ver=1.3.2″).
Pages load fine if I am just following a link. It is when I hit refresh that the problem occurs.
I have read many of the articles on this site with no luck. One article on WordPress problems had a promising reference to your article “Fix Your Blog: JavaScript problems”, but that link is broken so I can’t tell whether it contains the answer.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Update:
This site (http://www.gdstarrating.com) seems to have the same problem that I see on mine. Refresh freezes the page load. I have tried…
- IE, Firefox and Safari
- all browser plugins disabled
- two different PCs

I can’t reproduce the problem you are having. Everything loads just fine no matter how many time I refresh the page in any browser.

Hmmm. Maybe it has something to do with my firewall, or ISP. Very strange. I’ll try tomorrow on my office network.
