This wasn’t really planned release, but I felt I need to add few more things before concluding the cycle with 1.6.0. Some of the things I need for the customizations I have been working right now, and you will get to read that in upcoming tutorials.
This latest release contains many small fixes and changes in shortcodes, widgets, templates and javascript. Also, I have added several new actions executed after votes are saved. There were few problems with some integration functions that caused some problems, and that problems are also fixed.
During next week I will update Starscape theme to 1.5.10 with GD Star Rating related changes.
So, if you find more bugs, report it and I will either release another minor revision in the next few days or you will get new 1.6.0 released next Sunday evening.

Hi Milan
Was just wondering about the comment review management in the sense:
- when I get a comment for approval I can’t see if the user used the rating feature or not. (Basically I don’t want to approve such a comment or have an option to assign review corresponding to that comment; or atleast to not have such calculation in average review rating)
- secondly even if I unapprove/ delete that comment it still has an effect in average review..
ANy workaround/ suggestions..??

Another thing you have to blame WP Core Developers. Before WP 2.7 there was a way to add anything you want into comment edit panel in the admin sections. But for some reason all that is removed from 2.7 and 2.8, and there is no way for plugin to show you ratings with the comment. Until they solve that in WP Core, I can’t do anything.

2ndly when all stars are unselected can it be removed from average.. or something like that
3rdly though i dont know if its possible (& will be time consuming if possible) – but cant gdsr have it own comment panel which is linked with WP comment along with gdsr rating so edit can help edit those stars… just a thought…!!!
For now i believe comment review management is not working … rite..?!?!

Currently ratings from unapproved comments are counted, trying to get around that, but it’s rather complicated issue. If rating is 0, it’s not counted nor saved. Expanding current plugin panels is time consuming, so I am not sure when that’s going to be done.

If you mean rating javascript, this should be added as external script, not inserted into the page. There is an option to control this. It can be done both ways for some rare compatibility issues some users had.

Hi, very great job but i have a problem!
After a problem with the upgrade of WordPress i must have change file wp-config.php and create a new one. GD Star Rating now not work.
I had try to reinstall but it’s the same problem: the stars and system are in funcion but i can’t click on stars and the vote can’t cast.
Why?

Io penso che il problema siano le linee bianche all’interno del file wp-config.php, prova a toglierle e a ricaricare il file, cancella la cache del browser…io avevo il tuo stesso problema però con il file functions.php del tema.
try to delete the blank line in the file wp-config.php and functions.php of your theme.

Grazie Fab ma non ho risolto il problema.
Ho eliminato il file wp-config.php e ricaricato eliminando ogni riga totalmente bianca. Lo stesso per functions.php. Svuotato la cache del browser ma niente.
Ho notato che dopo aver fatto questa operazione nei due file riappariva l’ulima riga vuota e bianca, nonostante l’avessi cancellata.
Ho rimosso quell’ultima riga e ho semplicemente salvato, senza eliminare e ricaricare, così la riga resta cancellata ma GD Star Rating da lo stesso problema di prima.
Ho controllato un paio di volte di aver eliminato tutte le righe completamente bianche da entrambi i file ed è tutto ok.

è lo stesso problema che ho avuto io ieri, solo che io avevo fatto un update sia del plugin che di wordpress, quindi non sapevo a cosa imputare il problema…prova a cancellare tutte le funzioni nel file functions.php, ieri rimuovendo una funzione ho risolto il problema, poi dopo ho avuto un’altra bega coi rss che non funzionavano, e togliendo sti benedetti spazi bianchi ho risolto il problema….infatti adesso anche con la funzione incriminata GD rating và .
Prova a switchare il tema e a vedere se GD rating funziona, se funziona allora è qualcosa nel file functions.php

Prova a disabilitare tutti i plugin, io ieri le ho provate tutte dopo aver verificato personalmente che GD Rating 1.5.7 gira su wordpress 2.8.2, quindi sapevo che c’era qualcosa che nn andava nel tema o da qualche altra parte.
Hai svuotato la cache dopo aver tolto le funzioni da functions.php ? Ma poi possibile che sostituendo il solo wp-config.php si sia incasinato tutto ?
