This is bug fixing maintenance release. There were few reported bugs last week, all fixed now. I have also discovered one problem with using active rating blocks integration functions and setting star sizes different from global settings.
I have also made few small changes to builder panel. And that is basicaly all in this version. After this, I am continuing to work on detailed category managment. Once that is completed 1.5.0 will be released, and with it new roadmap.

Saying that there is a bug, without describing the bug is not very useful. If you find bugs report details here.

Revision, it doesn’t seem to be working when trying to vote on the home page, or subsequent pages that follow. If you actually click on the post and go to it’s own individual url page, you can vote in there and it registers. Please provide help on fixing this issue that was not there before.

As I have mentioned earlier about support, I can’t fix websites. I don’t have time for that. Such services are only covered under Premium support. 99.9% problem is with your website, but you need to find out why.

considering i didn’t have this problem before, is it possible that it’s happening as a result of the recent update??

I don’t think so. Rating doesn’t depend on the location, same code is used everywhere.

Posting such reports is pointless. Plugin works. But if it happens that it doens’t there is some enviromental issue either with server or WordPress (not enough memory, some other plugin). I am sorry, but I can’t make a plugin to bue bulletproof, no plugin is. With endless combinations of server/php/mysql/wordpress/settings I can’t account for every problem.
500 internal server error is not helpfull, but server should be able to log the actual problem if the logging is active.

I inherited a blog (as the previous developer was re-assigned to another project) running a really old version of GD Star Rating – t’was version 1.0.9.
I upgraded to 1.4.3 and noticed that I’d have to do some work with CSS to get the stars to display correctly… which is bearable as I can tweak it a bit.
However, on Internet Explorer, I get a Javascript error indicating something on line 404 (Wow! A magic number!) with “abc.0.innerHTML” (as displayed by the error message in IE8). Oh well, I guess it’s time for me to look into the plugin code to figure out what’s wrong.

Few months ago I have announced that there will be problem with compatibility if the plugin is not updated regularly. It’s not required to upgrade to every new version, but versions around 1.1.5 to 1.2.0 were critical. So, I don’t know what the problems can be upgrading for 1.0.9 to latest version, and I don’t know if it can be fixed at all. Only clean install will ensure the plugin to work.

@Valex
Could you perhaps post the error message displayed in your logs? (I’m assuming you are logging the error)
BTW, that hyperlink you’ve posted doesn’t lead anywhere – I get a 404 page on accessing it.

Is there any way to diagnose why the GD Star Rating system doesn’t display stars in a particular setup? I’ve made sure the plugin is enabled and I don’t have a cache preventing the update from reaching me.
I guess more people ought to use Log4Php in their code
Log4Net was a life safer from way back when I was an ASP.NET developer.

@Ronnie, I’ve just checked http://featuredish.com/ at the problem does really exist. Try the GD Star Rating on a plain vanilla WordPress 2.7.1 or WordPress 2.8 blog and ensure it’s working for you. If it isn’t, it’s probably your PHP environment settings.

Hi Milan
Sorry for bugging you again. A small doubt – in the post I want to show the aggregate/ average review rating done by the users in the comments. I believe there is some short code for this, but I couldn’t find anything in integration posts or anywhere.
Can you help me with this

Anyone getting a 500 error, create a text file and place in your wp-admin folder. Call the text file php.ini and insert this “memory=20MB” with no quotes. Adjust that value until it activates. Its a PHP memory issue. It fixed my problem. Excellent plugin by the way.

Yes, there is a problem with WP 2.8 with using a lot of memory, much more than 2.7.1. I have wrote post on that on my Dev4Press blog.
