Plugin has reached yet another major release in the short period. Last week was used mostly for testing but there are some new features added after the beta release. I will try to cover all changes from last official release and few more things.
What’s new?
Integration of ratings into the comments that is needed for review websites is completed. All needed functions are done, and described in the posts I published last week. Few days ago I have added support for the cross domain AJAX calls that can be enabled in case that you host website on the different URL from the actual blog URL. If rating on your blog is working fine, there is no need to enable this option.
Info files are updated and expanded, and now you can see the full T2 templates map from the info panel. T2 editor is improved a bit, and few more changes can be expected for the next release. Number of bugs are fixed including XHTML validation problem, some invalid functions description, some problems with multi ratings templates and few other things.
Support
But, there is one more thing I wanted to get back to (again). And that is support. Once again same things happen, same questions, people don’t reading announcements and tutorials. It’s very important to read these posts, because plugin is improved with every version. I have even started deleting topics from the forum, and the same thing will be happening on this website soon. I am very sorry about all that, but I don’t have a choice anymore. And respecting my free time is the only way for this plugin to improve further.
And more…
On the lighter note, there will be 2-3 posts during the following week with more on using shortcodes and few other things. Also, I am preparing one more interesting feature for 1.4.1 that will be released during next week.

I’m having trouble using the Multi Sets feature. Everytime I click on “Add New Multi Rating Set” in the Multi Sets tab, I get directed back to my homepage http://www.manaliandterry.com
Under the Settings tab, “Multi rating support” is checked.
Any idea what the problem is?
Thanks,
Terry

I can’t reproduce the problem. Maybe some other plugin is causing the problem.

Will there be a shortcode where I can display the rating from a different post?
Something like this?: [starrater post_id=1]
Thanks.

Hi Milan,
Congratulations on completing the latest version. Great work.
I am trying to get multi-sets working on pages. When I edit the page, the multi-set box appears but no stars appear to allow me to set the editors rating.
I have checked all the settings but cannot see what is wrong. Please can you let me know how I can fix this so I can set the editors rating.
Many thanks,
Tim.

I don’t understand what you try to do. Do you want to set review rating from the post author/editor or regular rating. For edito review rating you need to set rating through post edit.

I can set up a multi-rating review set (starreviewmulti) on a post with no problems. This allows me to provide an authors review rating on whatever I am rating.
I also want to have a multi-rating review set appear on a page
(rather than a post). Is this possible? I thought so from the documentation.
When I create or edit a page, I am not able to assign values to the multi-set items. Have I missed some setting?
The standard single rating/review are working fine on pages.
Thanks,
Tim

Milan, first of all thank you for developing such a powerful plugin! You are updating this faster than I can learn to use all the new features. It’s wonderful.
I do have a problem. I am trying to use this on a new site I am in the process of setting up, along with the “Event Calendar” plugin. EC3 puts a table down the left hand side of the post. If the table is larger than the post, the only the stars render on top of it (checked in FF, IE8 & Chrome).
Example: http://kidsfunguide.com/archives/category/events
Thanks for your help, and keep up the good work!

Calendar is floated left. You can modify the css to move rating block to the left. Add this to the rating.css file (wp-content/gd-star-rating/css folder, not in actual plugin folder, this way after plugin update, changes will remain). Make sure that this file is loaded by the plugin from the settings panel.
.ratingblock { margin-left:70px; }

I use GD Star and work perfectly. I see in Articles appear the total number of views. It is possible to display this value in the page, before or after the post? For example: Rating: 5/5 (number of votes, number of total views).
Sorry for my bad english.
Thank you.

Yes. You need to make new template that will use %VIEWS% tag.

I created a new template. All changes in the Standard Ratings Text (new template) appears correctly, only %VIEWS% tag not work. In my page, I see the word %VIEWS% not the number of totals views.
Sorry to bother you.

I have one question, I hope you do not bother you. In the GD Star widget, it is possible (now or in the future) the Sorting Column can be done by number of views, and not by rating?
(Please sorry for my bad english)
Thank you very much for all your answers!

Widgets work just fine. You need to set it right. There are few tutorials on using them. And as I have repeated countless time, read the info files for integration functions.
