Last few versions of the plugin have introduced many changes, and settings have changed as well. Most important are two fully new features used for setting spider bot’s and stars sizes and sets that will be added to main active rating CSS file. Beside that, there are few minor changes in settings layout and few options added, mostly for T2 templates.
Spider BOT’s
This is very simple panel that shows a list of all BOT’s plugin is filtering. Each line represents one spider. If you want to add more of them, add them on the separate lines. You can delete existing spiders from the list, but by doing this it can happen that spiders can trigger rating. Rating is protected with rel attributes to avoid such a problem, but it’s better to be safe than sorry. This settings are on the Advanced tab.
Rating CSS File
Since the introduction of the more free CSS used for rating, all installed stars set can be used at once for different rating blocks on each page. But beacuse of that, all used sets must be inserted into CSS file, and the same goes for stars sizes. But if you have a lot of sets, CSS file can be very big. For default 10 sets and 6 stars sizes, CSS file can be over 200Kb. So, select few sets you plan to use, and sizes you plan to use and only them will be used for CSS file. With 3 sets and 4 sizes, CSS files will be 50Kb approx. In anycase, browser will cache this file, so it will not be a big problem.
All this is only for active rating sets that actually allow ratings. Static results like ones in the widget don’t use this CSS file, and you can still use all installed sets and sizes.
These options can be found on the last, graphics tab above the previews.
Other Changes
All settings tabs are expanded with default T2 templates that will be used for different types of ratings and results. Few more things are missing like the multi rating default average stars set that will be added with next release.
