GD Star Rating 1.3.2
For the past week I have been working on few more features from the roadmap. And, almost half of it is done by now. Most important new feature is support for integration of the rating blocks (both standard and multi) into comment form. This new release also has several new features, and number of fixes and changes.
As for the integration into comments, all the functions are completed. They will require some more testing and additional customizations, but at this point is also very usable. At this point you can integarte standard post rating or post multi rating into comments area. Saved vote will be added to the post rating. Also, once the comment is deleted, vote cast with that comment will be deleted also. As an example at this point I have updated my Starscape theme to support all the integration methods. The theme is available at Dev4Press website. In the next few days I will write a detailed tutorial on this integartion.
Integration is functional, but some settings are still missing, and all that is in the works right now. Also, detailed tutorial will follow with in the next few days.
New, almost fully rewritten CSS file is added to this version, and with this it will be possible to have different sizes and styles for each active rating block, and each multi rating element. Many of the things still need polishing with this, but it will be done soon. Right now this CSS is much bigger than previous, but that’s because includes all installed stars sets and all 6 star sizes. Next version will allow you to select what to include in this file.
T2 template for rating text now has 4th element that will be displayed after the vote is saved. Many things are fixed and improved in both T2 and rendering. Also, I have updated read me and change log files format and set up new info subdomain with all that info.
Custom Functions: I have created new info files that are included with the plugin (info folder) and are available online. This info contains detailed changelog, features, list of languages and description of all custom functions for direct integration:
GD Star Rating Online Info: http://info.dev4press.com/gd-star-rating/
As for the next to be done, I will finally complete category based rules and restirctions and on completing integration and new rendering. Leave a comment if you find any bugs or have a suggestion.

Thanks for your great effort. We are always behind you

When I submit the comment:
Fatal error: Call to a member function get_url() on a non-object in C:\VertrigoServ\www\wordpress5\wp-content\plugins\gd-star-rating\code\gd-star-render.php on line 51
Besides that am not able to see the multi rating box while submitting comments. Do I need to manually integrate it somwhere

I don’t know what you want to do and how, so I am not sure what happens.
loading...
after this even at home page I just am getting this error…!!!
loading...
Another possible bug:
In a completely new installation in new post/ edit post page at multi review block I can not see stars at all…!!!
This thing worked fine in last n installs and somehow broke right now, so hoping its just some glitch. But yet thought of letting you know
May be i should wait for your tutorial on integrating reviews with comments…!!! Whatever I am trying seems to break thing badly
loading...
Using starscape-
Issue:
1) After review comment is submitted with multi ratings the submitted comment itself do not show the submitted star review (Though it shows the comment)
2) I don’t know if you implemented avg review thing total review in post has value equal to avg of that submitted in comments – but its not working presently.
I am trying everything on localhost, If you want I can do everything on my site
loading...
Submited value through comment is show in comment only for comment review, not for the ratings yet.
loading...
hmm… I don’t know how hard is that but hoping that its in your plan because final point to have a review site is to help users make multi-set (rating) reviews.
loading...
It’s planned, and will be done no worries. My intention is to create ultimate rating and review plugin, and that will happen.

Comment:
This was what I meant from last comment:
after submitting the comment star corresponding to Review tag are visible but those corresponding to Rating aren’t. Ideally I believe there shouldn’t be 2 different rating and review fields rather only 1 with multi rating set.

Have made a post in the forum with screen shot…

Hi Milan, thanks for your continuous work!
In the Post Edit page, no stars are visible in the GD Star Rating: Multi Ratings Review block.
FYI, it worked fine before.
loading...
ditto for me…!!!

People, read the post. I said that integration is not yet fully completed, so be patient. There are things missing, and they will be added soon. So, no more questtions about things not done yet.

Milan, I’m not talking about comment ratings. It’s about the Multi Review rating block beneath the text editor in the post edit page, which worked properly before the update. I had the impression that Multi ratings and reviews are some of the features that are done.
I could have waited for you to fix it eventually, but thought it’d be better to report a bug.

Well, things get broken. Many changes were made to CSS in this version and some of the functions were changed. It will update in next release in a few days.

Fixed in 1.3.3, thanks Milan.

Hi Milan
I’ve searched everywhere and can’t find a way to define the start size on Multi Reviews. It’s always 20px while the setting for my Multis is 12px. Need some help on this plz

Right now is hardcoded to 20 only for the editor. Next version will allow changing that.

Antoniop,
I know what you mean, I had this problem when I updated to 1.3.0 or 1.3.1 (I don’t have the greatest memory). The newer versions of GD Star Rating have new shortcodes for Multi Ratings, so when you’re inserting the rating shortcode by clicking on the star-shaped button in the Wordpress editor, check the available options. For example, my shortcode for the Multi Review looks like this:
starreviewmulti id=4 tpl=25 element_size=’12′ average_stars=’starscape’ average_size=’20′
Good luck!

Lee Evans

Great. I will include it on the showcase page in the next few days.

@Tony
Thank you Thank you Thank you. I would never find that. I use FCKEditor and the button for inserting the short codes is not there.
Again many thanks.

Ratings are not showing up in post on my blog? The images aren’t?
loading...
CSS loaded is new, but the rest of the code looks like old version of the plugin. I am not sure what the problem is.
loading...
So what should I do? Reinstall?
loading...
Try only reinstalling plugin, fully remove plugin folder, and upload again. After that save all settings again.
loading...
thanks Milan,
Can you mail me when it is live?
loading...
Yes.
loading...
Thanks MillaN! Its a great plugin!
Can you say when you expect to finish the Advanced: StarRating for Multisets? Thanks!!!
loading...
I am not sure what you mean. This already works with multi ratings.
loading...
You are right! I didn’t know it was already fixed. Thanks!
loading...
am i missing something?there are language mo,mp files..but where can i change the language?
loading...
WordPress is changing the language, not plugin. If the WordPress is set to a specific language, and if that language exists for the plugin, it will be used.
loading...
MillaN, the issue I had was a simpler one. Just the widget settings. =) No error 500. It is fine now. =) People have voted and so far so good. I think I have to check the overall data crossing of the votes and the like. But will let you know.
Thanks, and I am glad that you will not yell at me any longer =D
Congrats
