Well, no matter how many times I repeat something some people still are too lazy to read a massive amount of info (compared to most other plugins available) on how to set and use plugin. Please, read this post before asking any more questions.
I understand that is easier to skip all that and ask only what you need, but please respect the time I have invested in this plugin, because all this I do in my own free time, and I think that is much better for me to spend that time actually developing plugin instead of repeating answers to same questions over and over again.
I will repeat one last time, how to get your problems solved:
- Read the user guide. It has over 40 pages right now, and I know that is not yet complete, but a lot of things are answered there. Also remember that WordPress plugins featuring user guide in the first place are very, very rare.
- Check out the forum. Forum has some 200 topics with almost 1000 post right now and many problems without solution in the user guide are answered there.
- GDragoN WP blog. My main WordPress blog has a lot of posts about previous versions of the plugin and comments contain some important solutions also.
- This website. For the past few weeks this site has grown, and will continue to grow. There are two posts already with most common problems and solutions for them in the tutorial category. More tutorials will follow.
Also, when posting a support question through comments, email or on the forum, formulate your question so I can do something about it. Telling me that plugin is not working and asking for help will not help anyone. I need to know the url to your blog so I can check for a problem and better description of the problem.
I must say that I am very pleased by acceptance of the plugin and the number of blog that use it, and I want to thank to all of you for reporting bugs, offering constructive suggestions and ideas on how to further improve GD Star Rating. And I can promise you that I will continue to develop this plugin and make it the best rating system for WordPress.
I think that so far everyone who had a problem has received help from me. And that will continue as long as the problems are new and yet without the solution. And I know that this is not the case with most WordPress plugins and most plugin authors. That’s one of the reasons I am trying to provide the best support my free time allows. So, from now on I will not respond to any questions about the things that are already answered. If some people get offended by not getting the response to a question, well so be it.
I would like to read some comments on this subject. Feel free to express what you think about support for this plugin so far.

I am sure that everyone who has a website may understand that you can’t keep saying again & again the same things plus answering new questions and keep working at the same time to improve your plugins.

Hi Milan,
Thank you for this plugin. I have been trying to find something comparable.
I have it installed, have all permissions set appropriately, but the default css isn’t showing up in the options side of admin. The stars are also not showing up on the pages.
Can you make any suggestions? (I did post this on your forum, in the event you looked there first)

If the server returns 404 or 500 or some similar error, the problem is with some server setting or permissions for the files and folder where the files are located. I don’t have much experience in server administration, and I can do nothing to help you. The only 2-3 similar reported problems are solved by setting permissions right.
On my server, wp-content and all plugins within it folders are set to 755 and files to 644, and that is BlueHost default settings for new files and folders.

Hi,
It doesn’t seem right to ask a question and not say how great this plugin is!!
I have been through the user guide and posts and can’t find an answer the question I have: Is it possible to set a global default for the voting rules? What I would like to do is say that all posts can only be voted on by registered users, and anyone can vote on a comment. I know that this can be set individually at a post level but wondered if there was a way of changing the default (for my existing posts and also future ones).

Yes it is possible. Settings panel on Posts and Pages tab you have default rating settings. If you don’t see it, enable that on Administration tab (Display rating defaults settings).

Do you think that it might be possible in the future to have two default settings – one for posts and one for comments? Perhaps variable default settings for each multiset maybe? Just ideas I thought I would throw into the mix!
