Finally, new version is out and finally first revision with multi rating support. Since this is first multi rating version, more work will be needed to add proper display of statistical data and other important things. But in the meantime you can create as many multi ratings as you need, add them to posts and pages. All the data will be recorded similar to the standard ratings for later use. But lets’ go through all new features because there are a lot of them.
Multi Ratings
Obviously this is the most important feature right now. This website featured post has many info about it, and also has two multi rating blocks active so you can try it out. Rating system is fully working, but the plugin still missing few things like full statistical details like ste standard ratings have, but that’s in works and will be ready soon. Also, I am working on the system to display some form of table with multi ratings results.
RSS Integration
This feature has been introduced with beta release a week ago, so here are the most important details about it. You can now add current rating for posts into the RSS feed. For this plugin uses new generating engine and cache for generated images. You can set the visual look for the rating much like you can for posts or comments. Also if you want, you can support the plugin and spread the word about it by adding small powered by button to posts in the feed. Check out the feed for this website to see how that looks.
Improvements
Many things concerning rendering of rating blocks are improved and optimized. Returning info after voting is changed a little and this will be improved more in the next few versions with additional template elements. Some visual aspect of plugins are changed including plugin icon and some of the elelements of administration panels. Main CSS file is improved again along with tools panel, integration and some other things.
Bug Fixes
Many bugs are fixed in this released. Important thing is that most of the bugs were minor and weren’t causing too much trouble. Few CSS and rendering bugs are fixed, rendering of loader block for comments, missing translation strings, saving some of the settings. From beta version, generating of images had a small bug that is now also fixed.
… What now?
Well, there is more work to be done, and some of the imidiet things to follow are improving user guide, adding statistics for multi ratings, multi rating review, few tutorials…
So, download plugin using auto update feature or download it from this website. And as always I would like to hear what do you think about new features, especially multi ratings. All suggestions are welcome. Have fun.

Attempting to view any of the GD pages from the dashboard results in this error:
Warning: mkdir() [function.mkdir]: Permission denied in /home/abesc/public_html/wp-content/plugins/gd-star-rating/code/gd-star-functions.php on line 84
It is a fairly fresh install of WP 2.7, the only other active plugins are the current versions of:

This is nothing to be voried about. This is used to create cache folder, but obviously your settings for apache and php will not allow this. For now ignore this error it will be visible only on admin pages.

Please. When used multirating, my page show this:
Erro de banco de dados do WordPress Field ‘review’ doesn’t have a default value para a consulta INSERT INTO wp_gdsr_multis_data (post_id, multi_id) VALUES (2763, 1) feita por require, require_once, include, the_content, apply_filters, call_user_func_array, do_shortcode, preg_replace_callback, do_shortcode_tag, call_user_func, GDStarRating->shortcode_starratingmulti, GDStarRating->render_multi_rating, GDSRDBMulti->get_vote
What can I do? I worked to fix this about 6 hours…

Fix will be available soon. Until then multi ratings will not work for you. In most cases mySQL knows how to solve suh problem on it’s own, but your version doesn’t.

I get the following error on every GD Star Ratings admin settings page:
Warning: mkdir(): Permission denied in /home/downunde/public_html/hahahaimontheinternet.com/wp-content/plugins/gd-star-rating/code/gd-star-functions.php on line 84
Previous version worked fine. Just that latest version 1.1.0. I did auto update, then tried manual update. Both show this error.

I was so hopeful that you would finally allow the templates to be used on review text. You already have the tags built in. Please help me out I need to use this review template both in the render and also similar to the manual way I use .
I would love a .
Thanks,
Ben

Can you please explain exactly what you need. Right now review rating doesn’t have rating text as the regular rating does and it doesn’t have template. I am planning to do all this, but I am not sure whn it will be available.

Reviews will have mostly the same templated rendering as the rating. I have started working on new template manager and that will be included there. I am not sure exactly when it will be available but it will be soon.

Hi Millan,
I guess it’s pretty hard to keep working & answering people like me.
Thanks anyway.
I’ve got a new problem : my website is in chinese.
The multi rating sets don’t work when the different ratings sets are in chinese. With letters it works perfectly but i when i write in chinese, no criterions are saved, the table is saved empty & then i get a message error (the one i told you before :Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/faguohon/www/wp-content/plugins/gd-star-rating/code/gd-star-render.php on line 305).
Is there a solution ? Thanks in advance.

Hi Milan,
Great work, like always! Is it possible to insert a Multi Rating block as a Review (instead of starreview)? This way the author can insert it when editing the article, and the visitors can’t rate.
And a suggestion: maybe Multi Ratings should be enabled by default?
Thanks for this wonderful plugin.

Review version of multi ratings will happen, but I have few technical problems when there are more than one multi rating on how to display it, but I am hopeful to find the solution soon.
Good idea on default enabling of multi ratings, I will change that for 1.1.2 version next week.

Ok, thanks!
Another idea: Maybe put stars together with the text “Rating: 8.7/10 (13 votes cast)”? This way we can have the elements’ ratings represented by little stars, and the overall rating represented by bigger stars (calculated after clicking the Submit button).
And a bug (?): I just tested a multi rating. If I vote a maximum number of stars for all the elements, the calculated rating is always 2x the sum of all the weights. For example let’s say we have 3 elements, “Originality”, “Production” and “Special Effects”. We set their weight to 5, 3 and 2. If we vote 10/10 on all three, then the calculated rating is (5+3+2) x 2 = 20
Rating: 20.0/10 (1 vote cast)
Maybe I missed something?
Thanks Milan.

Weight was intended to be between value around 1. But I plan to do some sort of normalization of weight values so the overall rating can’t be bigger than maximum stars value assigned to the set.
